One of the best things about being involved in speedway is the people you meet. Dave Heddington from has been an integral partner of Golding Motorsport for many years, whether it building parts, fixing things on the car or even working on the trailer, he keeps us going up and down the road. Last year we were able to give Dave a spin in the midget and he had a very interested on looker that night, Lauren. This year, I had a surprise for Dave and Lauren by putting the Junior F500 driver in the Speedcar. She took to it like a duck to water. In her 2 runs she was smooth, consistent and fast! CONSISTENCY PAYING OFF!After a frustrating start to the season, the consistency is starting to pay off for Rob and the Golding Motorsport team.Sixth place back in December and a couple of seventh's in the New Year have buoyed Rob's confidence, which was important coming into last weekend's State Title at the Perth Motorplex.The Title began with Hot Laps, Rob recording the fourth fastest lap in his group, a good run in prior to the first heat where he would start out of position three. Having another solid outing, Rob would come home in position four behind some very tough competitors.The second heat was an invert of the field, seeing Rob come from position eleven. By the time the chequered flag flew he had been able to race his way up to seventh, and with the points tallied, Rob was all set to start the twenty-five lap WA Title final from position seven.Dropping back a couple of positions at the start, Rob would settle into a groove and eventually found himself in a battle group that traded positions lap after lap.Unfortunately at one point after a restart bunched the field up again, a couple of competitors made contact which left Rob stranded up against the turn two wall, but he was able to restart and join the field once more, albeit from the rear.Despite this, Rob was able to fight back, passing cars in the final stages and coming home with a solid seventh place.The improving results have seen Rob also clawing his way back up the Total Tools Rockingham Perth Motorplex Track Championship rankings, where he now sits fourth, just nine points behind third place.There is just one show remaining for season 2024/25 and Rob is hoping it will be a big one, so be at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday the 29th of March!Golding Motorsport is proudly supported in season 2023/24 by Quantum Collective, My Race Setup, Dasco Supply Group, QVEE, Thermal Dynamics Engine Heaters, Asteel Powdercoaters, AG Composites, Hyper Industries, Coverall Sheet Metal, Lance Auto Electrics, Sprint Lubricants and Mills Drainage.Release by DTN Media.Pic Courtesy Cochrane Photography. ...
